On September 17 & 18th, the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) will be hosting the first of its kind conference dedicated to Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). This unique event will feature the latest in AMR technology and products for a variety of material movement applications. The team at Waypoint will be on hand to show just how easy it is to set up and use our industrial strength, omnidirectional AMRs designed for workers on the job today.

Day 1 Conference + Expo

The first day will be filled with informative talks and demonstrations from top robotics companies. Waypoint will be at Booth 36 showcasing our 600 lb capacity Vector  as well as our EnZone wireless charging with booth neighbor and partner Wibotic (Booth 35). For the full schedule, list of exhibitors, and floor plan, visit the AMR Conference event page.

Here is a small sampling of talks we feel will provide plenty of useful insight and ideas:

2:00 pm – 2:30 pm Matt Wicks, Honeywell Intelligrated: Mobile Manipulation for the Real World – A Case Study for Robotic Unloading.
In this presentation, Matt will review the challenges of designing and developing a mobile manipulator for the purposes of unloading trucks, trailers and shipping containers in the retail/distribution markets.

4:30 pm – 5:00 pm Aaron Prather, FedEx: Roadmaps and Roadblocks for AMRs in Logistics.
Each year, FedEx deploys 5,000 new pieces of powered transportation equipment to make sure packages make it on time. Included in this are AMRs. Aaron will talk about some of the AMRs that have joined the FedEx fleet and where he sees areas of opportunity for the AMR industry as FedEx and other logistic firms continue to grow their AMR fleet.

Day 2 MHS Tour + Demo

On Day 2 participants will be treated to a tour of Material Handling Systems (MHS) state of the art R&D facility for emerging technology for the logistics industry. As part of the tour, a variety of AMRs including Waypoint robots will conduct material movement demonstration such as Autonomous Robot Transport, Parcel Singulator, Conveyor Shoe Sorter, and Package Induction to demonstrate the latest technologies for manufacturing and logistics.

Waypoint’s omnidirectional MAV3K with its 3000lb carrying capacity and ultra smooth movement of materials is sure to be one of the standouts. Vector will also be hard at work autonomously moving materials and quickly & precisely hitting its waypoints.

Become an Expert in Minutes

If you are interested in learning just how fast and easy it is to set up Waypoint AMRs, stop by our booth and ask for our quick-training session. You’ll be able to map an area, set waypoints, and create missions to get a Waypoint AMR autonomously working in minutes. You can also meet with us to discuss specific application challenges. We continue to innovate new products and tech to solve real world problems faced by our customers.

Can’t make it to Louisville?  Vector & MAV3K will be back in action at RoboBusiness, Booth #316. Be sure to catch CEO Jason Walker’s Robobusines talk: The Workforce: Design for Them or Fail at Industry 4.0  (10/2, 3:30pm) as he expands on the importance of including the workforce in any new automation project. Don’t miss it!
