Waypoint Robotics is Ready for RoboBusiness 2018: Discover Innovation at North America’s Top Robotics Conference

By: Jason Walker | CEO & Co-Founder

The event of the year is almost here! RoboBusiness 2018, the pioneering event of the global robotics industry, is set for Sept. 25-27, 2018, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. And the team here at Waypoint Robotics is excited to announce that we’ll be on hand in California, as both an exhibitor and a speaker, to showcase our latest autonomous mobile robot innovations.

The annual robotics conference and expo will bring together some of the sharpest robotics minds in the world to discuss the latest trends, show off their newest inventions, and discuss the future of the industry.

There’s lots to see and do at RoboBusiness, but make sure you come check out Vector, our flagship autonomous mobile robot, or see the newest addition to our lineup, EnZone.

Can’t-Miss Items at RoboBusiness 2018

See Vector and EnZone – Kick off your time at RoboBusiness by stopping at booth #419 to see what all the buzz is around Vector and EnZone. We built Vector to empower the current workforce and would love to show you how it works — so stop by for a hands-on demonstration to see just how easy it is to use.

Meet the Team from WiBotic – Another great stop is booth #107, home of WiBotic. This awesome Seattle-based team is renowned for their wireless charging solutions, and they were key partners in the development of EnZone. In addition to providing wireless power to mobile robots like Vector, WiBotic has developed power stations for aerial robots (drones), marine robots (AUVs), and various industrial applications.

The State of the Industry – The rate at which the robotics industry is evolving is surpassing expectations. However, just how long can this keep up, and where is the industry headed? In this panel discussion, three industry insiders will share their insights regarding current market trends, challenges and opportunities, and the short and long-term implications for the industry. The panel will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 9:45 a.m.

Conference Keynote and Stellar Lineup Panel Session – As robotics work to find their place in industry, a key question has arisen – who is managing the machines? In this panel and keynote address, four industry insiders – Asuman Suenbuel, Director of Robotics & IoT, SAP, Brian Carlisle, CEO, Precise Automation, Inc., Keith Shaw, Editor, Robotics Business Review, and Robert Bollinger, Robotics Applied Innovation Leader, Proctor & Gamble – will discuss the future of the Chief Robotics Officer (CRO) position, and how this position will work in organizations. “What Are the Characteristics of a Robot Champion,” will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10:45 a.m.

Hear From @ImRobotMechanic aka Waypoint CEO Jason Walker – Jason will be participating in a Panel Discussion on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:15 p.m. This 45-minute session is part of the AI & Machine Learning Forum at RoboBusiness. Also joining Jason in this panel is Eugene Demaitre, Senior Editor, Robotics Business Review, and Robert High, IBM Fellow, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, IBM Watson.

In this panel discussion titled “How the Convergence of AI, Robotics and Industry 4.0 Will Revolutionize Manufacturing,” Jason and company will discuss:

  • How manufacturers are currently employing robotics, AI, and IoT
  • How robotics, AI, and IoT should be adopted
  • How these innovations will transform production

Waypoint believes that smart manufacturing represents a leap forward from traditional automation to fully connected and flexible systems. The question is: How ready is industry to embrace the challenges and opportunities of this new era?

Can’t Miss Event – Pitchfire 2018 – Come Wednesday evening, there’s only one place to be. Beginning in the Conference Hall at 5:15pm, startup companies attending RoboBusiness will display their expertise, product capabilities, and business model for dozens of potential investors and business partners in the audience. The champion is selected by a panel of judges and is awarded $5,000 and a Robotics Business Review profile.
